?Why African-Americans Dominant Basketball

My proposed experiment examines whether reduced responsiveness to individuals of differing ethnic backgrounds contributes to the reason why African-American dominate (i.e. comprise 82% of players) in the NBA compared to Caucasians and persons of other ethnicities.

?Is the "Critical Period Hypothesis" true or false?

The Critical Period Hypothesis suggests that the ability of an individual to acquire their first language is biologically linked to their age; The first few years of an individual's life is the "window" of time in which an individual can acquire their first language and if they are not exposed to the correct stimuli then this individual will never be able to grasp full command of any language.  Can we prove this?

?This Board & Marking system is flawed

NOTE: this post has nothing about scientific research, but rather point out some problem about this "assignment".

Since this website is publically available, there are many ways of abusing the system:

1. "Spy account". ok, we get mark for voting +1 if people's submission becomes hotlisted (ie. other ppl voting +1 also).  It is easy for people to create an alt account, voting all "0" on all articles, spy the current score, and always make the "correct" decision.

2. "Puppet accounts".  Submissions with 3 scores are hotlisted, and -3 are out-of-play.  Since this web is public, one can easily create 4 different accounts himself, or ask his friends to create accounts.  Now he can basically: promote all his submissions, or veto all other people's posts.

3. "Credit".  People make points here; some of them can be really good.  again, this web is publically available, what if someone else sees the point, and actually does the work without giving the idea-maker any credit?  All he has to say is "I got this point myself independently BEFORE this guy posted it on web", and NO 1 can varify that.

Im not saysing anyone is exploiting these flaws, but I suggest either a ministered registration for the account here, or change the marking scheme.

IF you agree with me, vote +1 here ! :)

?C. elegans ncRNA

genetics

To identify as many non-coding RNA in C.elegans as possible.

ncRNAs are a group of non-coding transcrips produced by a set of unknown genes. So far,  known ncRNA genes include about 590 transfer RNA  genes, 275 ribosomal RNA  genes, 140 trans-spliced leader RNA genes, 120 microRNA genes, 70 spliceosomal RNA genes, and 30 snoRNA genes. I propose to do a genome-wide in silico screening for mRNA-like ncRNA in C. elegans  and analyze their expression by in situ hybridization

Many of the human diseases affect multiple organs and as consequence have multiple features. Some of the features are specific for a given disease, which make it recognizable. However, there are a number of features of each disease that is shared with several others.
